Glendon School is part of the Hunter/Central Coast Region and caters for students in a junior setting (K-6). The school supports students diagnosed with moderate, severe and multiple disabilities. Its physical setting, located next to Hillsborough PS, has afforded both schools the unique opportunity for quality integration. Glendon School is committed to the provision of programs which cater for the individual needs of its students. Programs are based on the Key Learning Areas provided by the Board of Studies including: English, Mathematics, Science and Technology, PD/Health/PE, Creative and Performing Arts and Human Society and It's Environment. Communication is a primary focus and programs are developed in this area to meet the needs of individual students including alternative and augmentative communication systems (PEC's, voice output devises, social stories, Boardmaker, visual cues and aids and sign language). We provide innovative technology practises including Interative Classrooms. Students have the opportunity to participate in the school's annual art exhibition in collabortion with premier local community organisations. Other programs provided by Glendon School include Aquatic and Spa Therapy, Riding for the Disabled, Active After School Community Activities and various Community Access Programs. Glendon School fosters active parent and community involvement including a welcoming Parents and Citizens Association. Individual Education Programs are developed to meet the needs of all students.
