School Find introduces Southwell Primary School in Hamilton Hill, for all your education and learning for your childs future,
Our student population is approximately 100 students, but fluctuates with a number of transient students. This number is set to increase in 2013 with the completion of the New Living Program of the Department of Housing and Works.
Southwell Primary School has 50% Aboriginal students and also includes 19 other nationalities with many newly arrived refugees.
Southwell Primary School was accepted as a National Partnerships School for 2010 and beyond. This, combined with the Indigenous Tutorial Assistance Scheme and Getting It Right numeracy, enables the school to provide a strong pastoral care program and additional support to targeted students in literacy and numeracy.
A strong committed staff, supportive parents and an effective behaviour management program ensure that a positive learning climate prevails.
The school has established strong links to the community through our school-based Aboriginal and Islander Education Officer, the school Chaplin and the City of Cockburn Early Years Network.
Welcome to Southwell Primary School one of the popular educators in your Hamilton Hill area. Our aim is help you in your learning journey.
We endeavour to celebrate each other's uniqueness by providing opportunity for all and to develop a culture that identifies that the journey towards excellence is often paved with trial and error, risk taking, learning from mistakes, flexibility and adaptability. We believe that encouraging students to take ownership of the learning is critical in achieving the best learning outcomes and that implicit in this concept is that students learn their own areas of strength and areas of development, through useful and explicit feedback.
